GEAR EQUIPMENT

We provide mechanical and electrical service and repairs to all gear cutting equipment to include hobbers, shapers, grinders and generators. We have conversions and retrofits available for all equipment to eliminate change gears and provide accurate feed speeds and positioning. We can also eliminate change gears for other types of equipment such as thread mills, thread grinders or anything that currently uses change gears.

We also can convert non-differential equipment to differential machines to cut helical gears including Barber Colman hobbers.

Hobbing Equipment

We have the experience and capabilities to rebuild and modify all hobbing equipment. We can rebuild your spindles and scrape or grind ways. We can eliminate change gears and convert non-differential machines so they can cut helicals. We have a conversion for standard Barber Colmans to cut helicals that start under $20,000. This system requires less than 10 minutes to set up. You only need to enter pitch, number of teeth, helical angle and feedrate to cut helical gears.

Shaping Equipment

We have the experience and capabilities to rebuild and modify all shaping equipment. We can rebuild your spindles and scrape or grind ways. We can eliminate change gears and in some cases set shaper up to cut helicals. We have a conversion for Fellows with hydraulic infeeds to eliminate the linear transducer with a digital scale for accurate positioning to tenths
